Laverstock Scout Group Badge

This badge was adopted by the Group in July 2005 and may be worn by all members of the Laverstock Scout Group who have made their sections promise.
The badge is worn on the point of the scarf.
Description
The badge was designed by Kate Knight our Cub Scout leader.
Their are three elements to the design. The Joker, the Key and the Bulls Head.
The Joker represents Laverstock. Laverstock is described in medieval times as the place of larks. The joker represents larking around and fun which we have in Scouting and our old venture unit used this as their symbol.
The Key represents the Key to the City of Salisbury North Carolina USA which the Group was presented with by Mayor Susan Klutz on behalf of the City Council at the civic reception in 2004.
The Bulls head is the symbol of our friends from Troop 443 Salisbury NC which they have on their group badge.
The blue background represents the Atlantic Ocean so the badge records the joining together in friendship of two groups from Salisbury UK and Salisbury USA.
